Kathryn Welsh: Over 25 Years of Compassionate Legal Service

Kathryn WelshOver her 25+ years of legal practice, Kathryn has achieved significant recognition and obtained numerous certifications. She is a Certified Marital and Family Law attorney, an AV Preeminent rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell and a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator. Board Certification means Kathryn is an expert in marital and family law.  As a board-certified attorney, she has dedicated 50 percent or more of her practice to marital and family law; actively participated in contested marital and family law cases; been substantially involved in negotiating settlements; drafting and preparing settlement agreements; and handling the trial of marital and family law cases, including appeals.  It also means she has been evaluated for competency and professionalism by judges and peers; and passed a written examination demonstrating knowledge, skills, and proficiency in the field of marital and family law to justify the representation of special competence in this area of law.  An AV Preeminent rating is a significant rating accomplishment and a testament to the fact that Kathryn’s peers rank her at the highest level of professional excellence.

Kathryn has also served as an arbitrator and special master. In those quasi-judicial roles, she has sworn in witnesses, heard testimony, made findings of facts and ruled on the merits of the case.  Kathryn has been an active member of, an officer in, Canakaris Inn of Court, a respected group of family law attorneys whose commitment is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility and legal skills for judges and lawyers in order to perfect the quality, availability, and efficiency of justice.  Kathryn is also a member of the Federal Bar, Middle District of Florida.  In her capacity as a lawyer, Kathryn has represented thousands of clients and litigated hundreds of cases in many areas of law.

Kathryn is proud to serve the residents of Florida and to call the great state of Florida her home. Kathryn has lived in Pinellas County since 1987 and is married to Robert, a public school teacher. Together they raise their teenage son and are active members of their community.
